Community Engagement/Marketing Assistant

The Northern Arizona Healthcare Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. We inspire philanthropy to bring the best quality healthcare to everyone in northern Arizona. We support Northern Arizona Healthcare and healthcare-focused community nonprofit organizations to improve lives.

If you are an excellent communicator and would enjoy making a valuable difference in the lives of others, then please consider the position of Community Engagement and Marketing Intern. The intern works closely with the Director of Community Engagement in the development and management of marketing communications and programs to advance Foundation goals.

The position reports to Sandra Kowalski.

Responsibilities:

  • Success story work: 20%

  • Creating stories about both our donors and the non-profit organization we support. Interviewing people is part of this responsibility.

  • Social media work: 20%

  • Managing Foundation social media site content

  • Advertising: 5%

  • Creating and placing digital, print, radio, and television ads

  • Messaging and positioning: 10%

  • Writing about the Foundation and its work

  • Community and Media relations: 15%

  • Success story fact finding and press releases

  • Communicating with members of the Certificate Holders advisory group: 10%

  • Conduct marketing research to support communications projects: 15%

  • Photography: 5%

  • Shooting (with Foundation’s camera) or sourcing photographs to support marketing

  • Compliance with identity guidelines and writing style: occasional

  • Oversee application of brand standards through visual communications and writing standards

  • Attending and working at Foundation special events: occasional

Preferred skills:

  • Strong work ethic and reliability

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including spelling and grammar and occasional speaking with community members on the telephone and in person

  • Ability to work independently

  • Intelligence and solid judgment

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Social media marketing skills

Our pay rate is commensurate with talent and experience, and ranges from $8.50 to $10/hour.
